Spring is here, the weather is rising and the blooms are here. A couple of tips to remember for your landscape as the season proceeds. Watering your lawn will be essential for the health and color, your lawn will need 1 inch of water per week. Fertilizers will be applied and need to be watered in to get the full benefit. Best time to water is between 5am-10am for best results. Keeping your lawn and plant material mowed/sheered will encourage thicker growth which will ensure a healthier landscape. Mowing your Bermuda/Zoysia at a height of 2-3 inches will help keep a greener color and serve as a soil buffer from the heat. Also mowing every 5-7 days will reduce the chance of mowing too much off at one time causing the browning sensation. When mowing, never cut off more than 1/3 of the grass blades which also reduces the chance of a fungus developing. Fresh mulch is also not a bad idea since the temps are rising, the mulch will allow your shrubs to conserve water better. Enjoy the spring season!
